Hi CGN'ers.

I am in the middle of a funding application and am hoping to add some data on the number of upland bird hunters - or total hunters in provinces like BC where you can hunt grouse, etc. on just your standard license.

Links to gov. website pages with specific #'s would be awesome.

I found the AB gov's page that listed the total # of licenses sold of each type, but now I can not find it.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Regarding Quebec.
This data is from an Access to Information request made in 2000.
This was the first time the data regarding certificates was tabulated according to the Quebec government.
I don't know about bird hunting, in Quebec the hunter's certificate is broken down into the following catagories:
Code F for firearms
Code A for bows
Code AF for firearms and bows
there is also a Code P for trapping

At the time of the request there was a total of 998, 392 certificates and they broke down in the following manner
Code F: 843 825
Code A: 79 807
Code AF: 74 760

I have a code AF certificate for both bow and firearm hunting. I think it may be possible that some may only have the "A" certification but I cannot give you any numbers.

Last time I checked there is now a course required for turkey hunting but I don't know if there is a Code to go with that.
