Help needed on rifle choice!

For a few months now I have been looking to get another semi, I already have an M1A loaded so Iam covered on the non restricted 7.62 side.
I want another Non Restriced and have narrowed the choice down to two: HK SL8. Or Famae 542. I realize they are completely different calibers and comparing the two is not apples to apples. I have handled them both, but not shot either and have experience with FAL's Ar15'S HK 91's (G3's) and Many AK variants.
I would like to hear the pro's and con's of both from fellow CGNers that have any experience.

Had an SL8. Most accurate semi 223 out there. Action like glass and the cold hammer forged, polygonal rifling and chrome lined barrel will last a lifetime. Ergos are not liked by most but can be fixed up with aftermarket stocks and lowers. You will not be impressed with the weight if your going to hump it far, Mine with Hera lower, ACR stock. 20x glass and Harris was 13lbs!

My quick thoughts:

SL8
Pros:

• Accurate
• Well-made
• Reliable
• Looks cool
• Easy to mount optics, although optic height requires use of included cheekrests which increases bulk
• Easy to maintain

Cons:

• Heavy
• Not AR mag compatible (although can be modified)
• Not everyone likes the stock (although I did)
• Trigger pull is OK but not great

SG542
Pros:

• Lightweight and handy for the calibre
• Easy to maintain
• Comfortable to shoot for the cbalibre (although not all have found this)
• As close to a Swiss Arms SAPR that you can shoot in Canada
• Reliable
• Looks cool

Cons:

• Mags are expensive, not compatible with XCR-M pistol mags
• Use of magnified optics is not optimal with stock design
• Accuracy for me with iron sights and surplus ammo is about 3 MOA (although that's not necessarily a "con", as I'm OK with it)

I don't see the G36 or Swiss mags as a con, they are actually a pro.

I had HK's and the Swiss before any AR and will take their magazine systems over stanag pattern any day
