I have been out of the hunting game for a long time but want to start again.
I am interested in partridge - rabbit - migratory birds.
Is there a 12 gauge semi auto that could be used (reliably) for all these hunting types ?
Should I go with inertia or gas system ?
Do I need 3.5'' for migratory bird ?
What are your recommendations

I know it's alot of questions but I appreciate your help.

My hunting partners use Benelli SBEIIs for all of the above with good success. I like 3.5" option for migratory but that is not a universally held opinion. The inertia systems are simpler but the gas guns kick a bit less and seem to handle a wider variety of shells better.

Check out the Browning Maxus, very affordable and reliable gun. You don't need 3.5 chamber for waterfowl, but for an extra $50-$100 i would get it. I prefer using 3.5 shells for geese.
