need some advice... i was sighting in my ruger m77 today (30.06) and i used 2 different types of ammo... first was the winchester super x (pointed soft point) in 165 gr, and i did some nice groups...
then i shifted to the remington express core-lokt (also 165 gr), and i just got terrible results... couldn't group at all... each set of three shots were so much apart... my point isn't that it's not getting the bulls eye; as this can be adjusted through the scope... but aiming at the same point and having each shot 3 or 4 inches far from the one before/after it; that's surprising.
i was actually considering the core-lokt for hunting, since i heard it's a much better bullet than the cheap winchester i got from walmart...
can anyone explain to me why this is happening? and if i should just hunt with the winchester?
all input will be appreciated.
thanks
