Hi, I have been loading 9mm on my Lee Pro 1000 for a few years now and I am currently trying to switch it over to .40S&W.
I removed the old case feeder and swapped out the slider, z-bar and feeder unit with a brand new unit I purchased from Budget. When I try to cycle the feeder the slider would not remove the lowest case or push the case forward. No matter how I try to adjust it it refuses to slide a case forward. If I try to force it, the case gets flung out and the z-bar pops out.
I notice my old feeder had a metal ring under it where the tube actually protrudes slightly. The new one does not and sits completely flat.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Glen

Pics would help a lot.

This is set up according to Lee - one coins width above case. The image is shown with some force being applied to case. The case angles forward but is held in place by the rim of the case above. Sorry for image quality - iphone.

If the Z bar is popping out I would say you have an alignment problem. I have two Loadmasters and generally they work well but occasionally I have to realign the rod that the case feeder and z bar rides on to makes sure the alignment is proper, otherwise the case feeding is jerky. The pic isn't clear enough to get a good idea of how you're set up.

There's something you have to do to get 40 cal to load.
I think it's a small case holder with a large case slider, and adjust the Z bar to the other hole.

you have to define coin width- I don't I just added a bit as defined by mk1 eyeball- btw, it's closer to a quarter than a dime

I actually reshaped the top of the slider as it's slightly taller than a .40 case and the next case was getting hung up. I reshaped it so that the next in line case would slide up a ramp on the cutout face of the slider. (If my terminology is correct lol)

That allows the slider to continue forward (instead of hanging on the case partially sticking out of the tube) and seat the lowered case in the shell plate.

Call LEE and tell what you want to reload, I remember having to match up a large this with a small that.
I use my LoadMaster every couple year's to reload 45 Win Mag
