Hey Nutz,
I recently aquired a 1895 Dutch Carbine from an family member.
No history known about it.
Anyways, the questions. After searching Ebay I found 2 clips for the rifle. The clips do fit in the Bottom of the magwell, but not the top (which is needed for loading). They seem a little wide for insertion.
I did get 6 rounds with the rifle which I think are 6.5.53R. 5 rounds fit loosly in the clip, is that normal??
Can someone verify that I have the right clips??
I think maybe the chamber/magazine area has been altered, so that a standard mag cannot be inserted (metal added in old mag slots/groves??). Anyone have a 1895 that can send me some pics??
Thanks in advance for any and all help.
She's a cute rifle, and does not deserve to be limited to single shot.
