An uncle was showing me this rifle over the holidays. He’s been trying to get info on it for years. His father found it wrapped in burlap about 65 years ago under a building. Some have thought it too be an early Colt saddle gun. I’ve never seen a revolver rifle before so I took some photos and I’m posting them in the hopes that someone may know something about this type of gun what it may be worth and to whom, should it be insured? I doubt he would sell it as it’s been in the family a long time and he hopes to keep it that way.
Caliber appears to be .45, 1.18cm
Cylinder dia. = 1.18cm L = 5.3cm
Bore 1.05cm
As you can see in the photos there is almost no steel at the end of the barrel. (muzzle)
I can’t see rifling but the bore is pretty corroded and there may have been rifling there once.
No marks on the action at all that can be seen.
