Just got a Green Mountain barrel. I could only get it seated half way and now it's stuck. I can't get it in further and can't get it out now either. It seems awfully tight. Advice?

Invert a can of "Dust Off" canned air, spray it (a liquid will come out) at the end of the barrel nearest the receiver for a few seconds. This will supercool (and shrink) the barrel enough so it will come out easily. To install properly, do the same thing on the entire end of the barrel that will be going into the receiver, then just slide it in. It will expand again as soon as it warms up. This method chills the barrel down to something like -200 degrees and, unlike using heat, won't hurt the barrel.

Brilliant! Luckily I had three cans. I just got it out. THANKS!

Stuck where?
It was stuck half way into the receiver. I used the inverted compressed air to freeze it and get it out but when I went to put it back in it was still pretty tight so I sat the receiver in some hot water for a bit and froze the barrel end and inserted. A couple taps with a rubber mallet seated it perfectly. Thanks for the help, hope this might help someone else sometime.

All I could find with any availability was a Green Mountain 18" heavy. It's not fluted or anything else so there's a lot of metal there. Once I find a dlask 12.5" ill be getting that but this should do for now.

Nice, the 18 heavy should give you pretty good groupings on weight alone..

I am also interested in the dlask 12.5 - with a sporter chamber for ammo compatibility purposes - and I know that a heavy 12.5 would be a good idea since a light one would probably be TOO light. Dunno, I guess I'd have to try.

My GM 20" SS was really tight too that I bought off Barry, I found that their was some paint over spray on the barrel receiver, a quick small sanding with 1000 grit sandpaper fixed the problem.

Necro-post, but just wanted to bump it back up in case guys were having issues with barrel removal or installation. I picked up a Ruger receiver and GM barrel and wanted to mount it into a DAR receiver for my wife, but the pig was stuck in there something fierce. Will try these methods out, thanks!
