"J" man, did you find out anything from the CFP?
No, they weren't any help at all. The lady I spoke to at the CFC told me that she cannot give me any information regarding the history of the gun, so not much help on that front, but worth a try.
Talked to the manager in Montreal from the mail order dept. He offered a refund plus shipping. I have to deliver the firearm to the Markham location (they'll sign off for it on my invoice as proof) so they can transfer it to Montreal for me. When Montreal will receive it, they will then credit my account. Works for me because I will be returning every accessory I purchased for this firearm back to Markham, including scope.
I had to waste gas and drive down to Markham for 795 magazines because the guys in Montreal couldn't figure out what magazine goes with the 795 when they were shipping it out to me. (I tried to order the 10-shot .22LR mags, but they said I was trying to order the 7-shot .22WMR mags and that they wouldn't fit. They insisted I wanted the 7-shot .22LR instead. I repeated to them that I wanted the 10-shot mags, and told them Marlin doesn't even make 10-shot mags for .22WMR! So I went down to Markham, and picked up the same 10-shot .22LR mags I tried to originally order with them, and they fit!!!

Maybe the 7-shot mags were a hard sell?)
Now I have to burn some more fuel and go back down to Markham again to return this broken Salvation Army gun!
After all this, they would not offer me any compensation for all the wasted time and fuel burned, and would not offer me another chance to take advantage of their "TAX FREE SALE" for another gun, that is now over, after they sold me a used, broken gun. What a hassle. Never again. Should've went to SAIL in Vaughan.
Too bad I'm stuck with their $25 membership card that I don't plan on using anytime soon, if ever.
Le Baron, worst experience ever.
