I am not a precision shooter. I do like to shoot small groups but am having some problems. I can put 4 of 5 in 1/2 in at 50 (with 22 rf) but always one stray :(. I have been trying different holds, hand placement and pressure. I am using a front rest w/ bag and a rear bag. Any advice from those of you that can help would be appreciated. Any videos to watch that would help? Thanks a lot Aj

Did you try a few types of match ammo to see if any gave you less flyers? Some rifles do have a preference, also depends on what rifle you're working with as groups can get a lot tighter than 1/2" at 50yards.

I find with .22, if you're calm and paying attention, its pretty easy to know what you did different and why the bullet went where it did.

Try different ways to hold the rifle, I find I need my left hand holding the buttstock against my shoulder to stay consistent and tighten up the groups, might be different for others. As little as not having your finger at the same height on the trigger is enough to throw it off.

I am shooting 4 rifles: Bruno #3,Anni single, Rem 541S, and Rem 597 yellowjacket. Front rest with ear bags (sand) and a rear bag eared (both leather) I do not think it is an equipment problem. I can shoot sub 1/2 in groups but not as repeatable as I would like. Ammo is different target or match. Scopes vary by gun but are variables ie 3x9;4x16;6x24 & 8x32. I have been given some very good advice and am looking forward to trying it out.

You have some fine rime-fires but your choice of ammunition is not the best try some higher end ammo Lapua, eley RWS you won't get so many flyers
