Help on a first build

Hi, I'm looking into getting into long range shooting and looking to do my first build over the winter, mostly for long range, hopefully some competitions and maybe some hunting. This is what I'm hoping to do, .308 with a 20" barrel and able to take mags. Budget is around $1500 not including glass.

Maybe just buy a tikka CTR or savage 10 hs precision or 10 McMillan or model 12 lrpv and forget about building anything. You'll have lots of other options, but this is likely the easiest.

Long range, hunting and competitions rarely go with the same rifle. Your better off buying one of the rifles mentioned above to start out
