Hi everyone,

After a bit of a hiatus, I'm getting geared up to get back into shooting. I'm getting interested in becoming involved in ODPA(IDPA) or other similar disciplines, and would like to get the holster qualification taken care of ASAP.

Such courses as IPSC Black Badge, CSSA CDP, IDPA(ontario) certification, or IDPA new shooter courses would cover this requirement according to the ODPA rulebook, and hopefully count for other types of matches.

To save me from scouring the internet, can someone point me in the right direction as to what courses and dates might be coming up?

Thanks!

I'm signed up for a holster course through the OSA for Sunday April 20th. It's at the MilCun Marksmanship Complex in Minden.
There's also a pistol safety course on Saturday that's a requirement for the holster course. My assumption is that this is comparable to other courses like Black Badge but I'm not certain.

I did PPC holster course at my local club. Try to look for PPC clubs since their holster qualification is accepted by IDPA (not accepted only by IPSC :( ). Refer to CSSA or PPC canada sites.

It appears that most 'holster courses' in Ontario are dreamed up by Club Executives in a never ending battle to create one more hurdle to cross. There doesn't seem to be a standardized curriculum, CFO imposed or otherwise.
