Hi folks I'm trying to repair my fathers walther p-38, I found after examination that it was missing entirely the firing pin lock lifter. I'd like to restore it to orignal functionality as it has been passsed to him from an uncle who captured it in WW2.

I've contacted marstar and they dont have any, and dont care to source any (understandable, its a 20 dollar part) So the easy route is out.

I can make one on the mill if I had the dimensions, or one to copy. The pistol is 800 kilometers away so I can't trial and error/fit one up. So if anyone out there has a lock lever lifter they are willing to measure(to the .001"), or let me borrow for a day, or even one to sell me, I have a 20 dollar bill for you(negotiable). Or I'll do some work for you in reproducing a part you need. I have made and heat treated non-critical parts like ejectors for my own collection.

I understand what a hassle it is to take this part out but maybe someone has a p-38 torn apart right now, please, pretty please with a cherry on top.

Thanks,
Erik

You might want to check Western Gun parts in Edmonton. I sold Erv a parts bag full of P-38 parts a couple of years ago, I'm pretty sure that one was in there.
