help percussion lock problem

I recently purchased a Juker .45 cal the hammer does not hit the cap hard enough to ignite it. If you hold the trigger and pull the hammer all the back a little bit past the full #### position and let go, the hammer will ignite the caps. There is only one adjustable screw inside the actual lock assembly will this increase the hammer speed any?

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated

I have no idea what the lock on a Jukar rifle is like, but, in general... If there is a way to increase mainspring tension, that might help. Make sure nothing is binding. Is the hammer nose hitting the cap squarely? Make sure the sear isn't catching the half #### notch when the hammer falls. If it comes to it, a stiffer mainspring might be needed.

Jukar lock is the same as a CVA.Check the angle that the hammer is striking the cap at,if it is not hitting square maybe try filing the nipple down until it does.Deer Creek in the U.S should have the parts or a new lock if needed

I'd also check if anything in the lock is binding on stock wood.

You may need your lock to be worked on, or a new main spring , I figure jukar was around 25 or so years ago, check out dixie and see if they have the part "main spring" it will only cost 20$$ max

CVA's and Jukars have "softer " springs. So replacing the spring, might not help.
