Hey,
Edit **Upon further research I think i may be chasing a unicorn**
Looking a getting a new scope:
1. Instead of $1000 Perhaps a budget of $1200 is more appropriate.
2. I am 100% on the Mil/Mil. Math makes more sense to me. Have Moa/Mil now, and think I'm ready to move on.
3. Pretty Sure FFP is what I want. Never owned one, but it seems to be easier, but I Have a concern (see below)
4. I have had illuminated scopes and have never turned them on (Seems like a gimmick to me), so I'm not paying extra for that.
5. Power: on the low end 6x or lower and at the high end 16x or better.
and as an FYI. Typically I shoot 500yards or less and at either paper and milk jugs target shooting, or coyotes hunting. I am shooting a Savage .223.
So the two questions I have:
1. Without turning this into a debate on FFP vs SFP (I am well versed on the differences). With a eye towards reticle design is there a scope out there that would provide me with ideal reticle thickness for precision shooting tight groups within the 100-500 yard range? In particular between the 10-16x range? (As an example a reticle that appeared an inch wide at 200 yards on 16x would be unacceptable)
2. What (if there is any) scopes fit w/in those constraints?
Comments from people with hands on use would be awesome,
Thanks in advance! and if anything needs clarifying just let me know!
