Help Please...Ruger MK II...Assembly problem ?

Thanks for all the help...My gun is put back together, cycling, and firing perfectly once again.

The problem I was having is actually weird, and I overlooked it time after time....Anyways, I was reassembling everything correctly right from the start to finish, however if it wasn't for my wife yelling at me to stop banging around while she was trying to watch a movie I may not have realized it right away when I tried putting it back together again tonight.

The problem I was having is that my barrel is really snug to get on and off. It goes on fine, but I kept using a mallet to seat it back because its so snug to get the barrel back 1/8" to line up after it is placed on the frame. I happened to take a piece of wood, lay the muzzle end on the wood, then practically lay on the gun with all my weight to get the barrel to slide back the roughly 1/8" so it was on properly & lined up....after I did that, I reassembled the same way I have been all along (minus the mallet).

When I was using the mallet, something must of been disengaging or causing something to not line up properly by the force of the mallet banging the barrel into place...I guess I was banging something out of place.

I'm not telling my wife that her telling me to stop banging around is how I got it working again. I will tell her fellow Cgners told me no mallet....
