Just Wondering Witch Would Be The Better Gun The Ren R5 Milspec Or The Savage Law Enforcment 10fcp With Hs Stock. Any Feedback Would Be Great. Thanks

Very Tough choice, Remington alway been a good choice, but now Savage is the new kid on the block, very accurate out of the box, tight chamber compare to Remington.

Both have excellent potential. The Savage will give you a det center feed mag, a simple self adjustable trigger, and lots of options for swapping barrels in the future. Likely less money too. Certainly alot less money to tweak in the future.

I personally like the shape of the Savage HS stock over the varminting style found on the R5. You may not.

As LeRoy said, go fondle them both and choose whatever floats your boat. Lots of options for either platform down the road.

I don't think that I would, IMO consider buying a rifle without a detachable mag. The Savage is very modestly priced and along with the V-Bull conversion, and McMillan stock gets you into a very nice platform.

I think the real answer is which 1 you can still find available for sale. With no more of either being allowed for export out of the US preference may not be the issue.
Both are certainly decent rifles, if on the off chance you can find both, then handle both, buy 1 and let the rest of us know what you did not buy and where it is.

The R5 is Milspec and we all know that milspec is the best thing since sliced bread. Without "milspec" you'll be lucky to hit the ground with three shots.

Got Milspec?

:D,
I'm ripping that one off.
That being said my 5R shoots pretty well. Plus I prefer the bead blasted satin stainless steel finish over the parkerized or blued finishes any day. It's a great all around package. Regardless of the milspec claim.

Check out the sig....

I like both. Savage will be cheaper at the end of the day. Remington will be a better gun, but by how much may not be worth the extra moolas. I'm building on a Remington right now, last build was a savage. I liked it. I have 2 of each.
