Help, remington 597 vtr or ruger tactical target

Ruger shoots under an inch at 50 easily! The stock trigger is the biggest downfall for me but is easily fixed with a VQ hammer for $30! It all comes down to what you want to do with the gun. For me I don't run tactical drills, and do mostly bench shooting so I wanted something to be pretty accurate and have a heavy barrel so I can blow through those 25 round mags. I owned the VTR previously, and it was pretty accurate, but I have 2 complaints about it. 1) the front handguard was never very sturdy and would shift slightly. This didn't affect function but just seemed cheap, and not very solid. 2) the thing is a ##### to take down, and I was always scared I would strip one of the screws that hold the metal plates on the action.
