Made my rust-prone 870 Express look brand new again. Never had a problem since. There may be other stuff that works just as well, or something cheaper you can also use; all I know, is that this stuff works. (And smells damn good too! )
Keeping it cool is what causes the problem in the first place. That's why the recomendations for putting a lightbulb in the safe to warm it slightly so the dew point is higher than the amount of water in the air.
I've actually had well oiled machine tool accessories get rusty right through the oil film just because it was in the sheet steel lathe base which is sitting on a concrete floor so it tends to be cool inside and the moisture condenses.
I was worried about the same problem as my current gun cabinet is under the stairs in the basement. I mounted the cabinet a couple of inches off the floor and put vapour barrier underneath, then bored a 2" hole in the bottom of the cabinet and put a 2" 12v DC fan (from RP Electronics in Burnaby) over it. The "wall wart" for the fan is plugged into an outlet nearby. Then I put a 25w chandelier bulb inside the cabinet on the top. Both are on 24/7. It has worked quite well for several years. The guns all have a light coat of oil on the metal, of course.
