Ok so I screwed up and as a result I have a bunch of lead and powder mixed together. I don't care about the powder but I want the lead.....any ideas??

If your not worried about the powder loss, the easiest way is to dump it all in a can, and set a match to it. Powder vanishes, shot left behind. voila!:D

I have had the odd time when I had a "mix up". I wanted to save the powder though, so I poured it gradually, on one end of a slightly angled cookie tray. The shot ran down to the bottom of the pan, the powder (mostly) stayed on top. I then scooped out the shot, and dumped the powder back in the bottle. You may have to do it a few times to fully sperate it, as a bit of powder migrates with the shot. Depending on the powder size, I have heard fellows using a mesh backed baseball hat, like a strainer, with success.

Kitchen strainer with mesh that will let the powder through but not the shot, or other screen material, or dump it out outside on a flat surface on a windy day and wind(or fan) will blow the powder away. Sometimes just pouring it from height in the wind outside will work as the shot falls str. down and the powder blows away.

I have run into this problem a few times, use screen material, screen thru the powder. If your going to reuse the powder you should recalibrate for correct powder bushing.A screened powder will throw a heavier charge thru the same bushing you were using. Good luck!

Take it outside and simply winnow the powder out by dumping the mix from bucket to bucket from about 4 or 5 feet, you know like how they separate wheat from chaff in 3rd world countries.

Make an angled ramp from a piece of plywood. Slowly pour your mixture onto the top of the ramp. The pellets should roll down the ramp leaving the powder behind.

I think I will try the cookie sheet idea first and then if that doesn't work to hell with the powder and I will try a piece of plywood. Thanks.
