Guess?
Wow....been a while since I posted here.

I was wondering if someone could help me sight in my M14? I am an Iron sights guy, and I have no problem admitting that I suck sighting in a scope. I am in Ottawa and I live very close to the Stittsville range and I have some ammo to burn, which I don't mind sharing with anyone wanting to help me out....

but its so easy with a scope. start at 25m, then move to 100. I managed to sight in my 700 mtn in 6 rounds. Every shot after that was for grouping. If you're that desperate, I may go sometime this weekend to try my hand at longer ranges.

I just find I have no luck with it. I will have to get out soon....

Start at a close range ie 25yrds. That way you can see where it's going. The bullet will be on the same line of sight twice. As an example it will be dead on at 25yrds (point blank) and again at 200yrds. So as a result, once sighted at a specific distance, if the distance changes so does the poi compared to point of aim. If you're not on the paper at a close distance, shoot into a bank or some area where you can see the strike. If the poi is off the target quite abit, move the crosshairs from point of aim to point of impact without moving the rifle (if it's shooting left but on plane, move the crosshairs to the left which in essence moves the impact right, if low, move the hairs down which will raise the shot.) Sometimes you really have to put quite a few turns on the turret to make a difference. That's the KISS method I subscribe to. Cheers
