i built a 6.5wsm off a savage police action 300wm i used the same bolt and changed only the barrel. using 264 winmag loading data i figured i would try a few shots. the first load was h414 140 gr sierra 54 gr.the chorny wont work in this temp but anyways first shot stuck in the chamber. the ejector ripped off a corner of the brass while being pulled out leaving the case in. with a brass rod i removed the case. "ok" i figured that was hot so dopped down 6 grains 48 grain this time. the exact process happen once more and now im left shaking my head as too whats going wrong. 48 gr is 7 more grains then i shot out of my 260 so don't figure its still high pressure. the first primer had the firing pin dimple push out almost flush and the second had a slight ring around. rough chamber? lets hear what you have to say

Does ammo cycle properly without firing? Do the cases drop into the chamber on their own after sizing? Are you jamming the bullets into the lands? How about case length after resizing?

Inappropriate powder, with inappropriate data as a starting load? Resulting in extremely high pressures.
The 6.5 WSM is significantly smaller in case capacity than the 264 Winchester magnum, and looking at the Hodgon Powder reloading data, they don't even list 414 with that bullet weight, only 100 grain.
As mentioned above, you might also be jamming the bullet in the lands, or your neck clearance might be too tight, or both.
Suggest you try checking mechanical factors, and then start again with load development. I note that the 6.5 Remington Magnum lists 414 with 140 grain, with loads from 42 - 46 grain. But, you might be better off with some other powders.

Case capacities are pretty close. WSM probably about 80 grains and 264WM about 83. Agree with the powder being a too fast unless it is a 100 grain or less bullet. My go to powder is H4831 for 264WM, but H1000 should be very good too. I've tried a jam and don't find much difference in pressure signs or velocity, but that is with H4831.
