I've been doing plenty of shopping for myself lately and it seems as if the lovely Miss Hydrocket is feeling left out! So she's asked for a new rifle of her own! Gents, I feel VERY lucky that she takes an interest in my hobbies and wants to get involved. She's a keeper!! :) The bonus part of this is I will most certainly be able to "borrow" her rifle when I need it, and I've always wanted a .22 WMR...so here we go!

I know Remington makes the 597 Magnum. But there are so many 597s now, I'm not sure exactly which ones come in WMR. Anybody know? Is it just the one rifle? The 597 is top of the list now, as there is aftermarket support for this gun from Boyd's, Volq. Custom, etc.

Sadly, Ruger stopped making the 10/22 WMR last I heard. And I've seen used models occasionally approach the price of custom guns. And they are scarce.

CZ makes one..but to be honest, I don't have much interest in them.

Magnum Research makes one...but I'm scared to know what CDN pricing would be and if I could even find one.

This looks like a nice one...but again, no idea if I could even get one here. http://www.excelarms.com/rifles/acceleratorrifle.html

I'm open to suggestions, gents. Do your best, and thanks!

I have a 597, and find it has a crappy mag..I have 6 mags and they are all tempermental...

Magnum Research will cost you $650-$850

Volquartsen will set you back better than $1000

The CZ 512 is a nice little rife...Far better than the 597 IMO...

Have a 10/22mag with JARD,and Volquartsen upgrades...I really like this rifle...Wish they still made them..

I own the CZ512 in .22WMR and it is an awesome little rifle. Accurate shoulders really nice and very user friendly. Can take apart in seconds to clean. Never has jammed and I have tried as much different ammo as I could find. Ya it's not the sharpest looking but hell of a shooter.
Cheers
Geoff

Ellwood Epps has a used H&R Model 700 in stock right now. I've heard good things about these. Be prepared to pay a fair bit for ammo!
