Help- Stag 10 feeding issue

I experienced the same issues with my stag10 also built by irg for the first 50 or so rounds it seemed to do the same thing it hasn’t happened since. It may be because it’s broken in or because I’ve been lubricating the living heck out of my bcg.

Strip down your bolt carrier group completely and brush clean it assembly and lubricate the living hell out of it but also check your feed ramps on your barrel

This. Make sure you are using a nice light oil to. One time I accidentally used boeshield on my BCG and the action was too gummy it wouldn't cycle correctly. If that fails, give stag a call. they will make it right.

thanks everyone, i have been stripping it down and scrubbing it clean but doesnt solve the issue. perhaps i just shoot the hell out of it and hope its a break in issue.

do you think its a brass vs. steel case thing?

Could also be your mag. I’ve heard rounds can slide forward and cause issues

Shouldn't cause the bcg to bind going back into battery. I assume the issue happens when its chambering a new round?

He’s not totally wrong. I have heard as many complaints about the Stag 10 as the BCL. I have only dealt with two BCL in person that where problematic. I have dealt with several Stag 10 with rough chambers that couldn’t extract. As far as personal build rifles go, just like someone else’s reloaded ammo, I only trust the guns I assembled myself.

They all have issues of one kind or another however I didnt see any thread with stag 10 suffering a catastrophic failure.

i have noticed that its jamming up less and less each range trip, so maybe the bcg needa to get worked in.

is it all through the mag or usually just the first round? i have had several mags pinned too tight for 5 rounds and the bolt has a hard time stripping the first round off?

What do the cases look like after you chamber and fire a round, are there any noticeable scratches?

im relatively new to the ar style platform so not sure whats happening, i bought this rifle new from IRG. every few rounds the bolt fails to close all the way and gets locked up to the point i have to pin the charging handle agains something and shove it forward to get the round out, sometimes it load and when i pull the trigger i just here a click.

perhaps its a break in issue? it has 100-200 rounds through it.

I would say that is not definitely not normal. Was the gun produced by Stag? Or did IRG build it to specs and/or assemble from parts? If the former, I'd go straight to Stag and ask them to resolve it. You shouldn't need to do what you are doing to "break-in" a rifle.
