I just got my X1 handgaurd from Maple Ridge Armoury, as I begin to thread on the barrel nut it turns about 1 1/4 of a revolution and then gets very tight. The upper is new and has never had a barrel installed onto it. I am new to building AR platforms and I am worried about stripping either the nut or the upper. I have tried lubricating the threads but it does not help.
Any advice or help would be fantastic, thanks.

Best advice I can give is don't buy maple ridge armory. Do not force it and ruin your upper! I'd be emailing them and telling them to send one that hopefully works...

Probably out of specs as I doubt STAG is the problem... RETURN your barrel nut to MRA asap.

Almost sounds like it is Armalite thread pitch not DPMS.

After a closer look, it appears the thread pitch on the nut is more fine than the stag. Does anyone know if the BCL102 has fine threads? If that's the case I was maybe shipped the wrong nut.

I had zero issues installing an MRA barrel and X1 handguard on the stag-10
sounds like they sent you the wrong barrel nut.

Glad I came across this. It appears I have the exact same problem. Glad I didn't try to keep feeding on it when it got stuck.

I guess I wait for MRA to send me a proper barrel nut...
