Help stock, build the OSTS truck.

4 or 6 inch suspension lift, 35x12.5 tires, iron bull bumper with massive brush guard, winch, cold air intake, TOPROPS, try all that!

Nah, it'll look like just another cookie cutter lifted gm. Where I live, you can't throw a stick in any direction and not hit one.
Spend the money and do some suspension mods aimed at performance, as opposed to looks. Get some bumpers that improve approach angle and reduce weight, rather than add it.
Form following function, like the gear and firearms that OST sells !

Now this worked for me on my little Suzuki Samurai, however it may be a possibility for you. I had a welder build a mount for my winch that mated directly into my reese hitch, I had a reece hitch mounted front and back, that way I could take the winch off and put it on the back if needed (which more often then not it was easier to winch backward than forward) If you could get a strong enough mount set up for a truck that size it may be something to think about.

I see that Jay T already mentioned this, I'mma tarded.

I like that idea a lot. More often than not I have ended up using a trailer hitch style mount for my winch to pull from the rear, front winching in the roads I drive seems to be less common.

That's very nice. What kind of bags are those, and what is the storage unit underneath them?

I have one of the Motomaster Nautilus's that I've actually used multiple times on a few vehicles as well as for emergency lighting, boiling kettles, charging electronics.

Any of these systems I highly recommend if there is room in a persons vehicle.

Good call.

Have a couple, from general purpose to tourniquets/quick clot/gauze etc.

I'll have to look at those, good call.

Got one of the singles. We sell them in the store and I love them!!

Got a few lights, so not sure I could add another or replace one I have.

It's up a couple inches with 35's so I think I'm going to stay that way for awhile. (possibly :D)

Here's the updated pic with a bit more organization.

Here's the hawk ;)

Here's a size comparison pic :D

ATS Large Medical pouches. Don't know if they still make them or not.

Huskyliner.com is where the storage unit and floor mats came from.

1) If you have a winch and lights, get a second isolated battery to run them.
2) Get LED aux lights. less drain on the battery.
3) Don't store anything under the seat you need at the side of the road. You dont want to get everyone out just to get something they are sitting on.
4) Possible alternate form of communication. CB, HAM, weather radio?
5) An always on 12v outlet in the cab and one in the bed.

Here are all the mods on my truck:

Personally.. You should of bought a Jeep for that type of outfitting.

A truck has no business going deep in the backcountry, IFS complications, lack of decent traction (its really a 1x1) unless you get full lockers front/back.
I used to own a couple trucks and also a '10 Range Rover sport (full independent, and probably the only exception).. and I can tell you from experience. I own a '13 Rubicon unlimited now, and it will go ANYWHERE without a question, equally as off road capable as the RR (Elk trip Northern BC '10 river crossings etc) without the $$.
Jeep now has the improved engine (bolt on +100 rear wheel hp for $5k) will give it LS1 power from a V6, solid axles, true 4x4 posi (lockers front/rear)...

The Jeep is an AR on wheels... the options you have for after market stuff is mind boggling. Unless you need the box specifically for carrying a 1000lb load. my argument is invalid.

NEwayz could go on on .. just my 0.02

Can't carry plywood, 2x4's, slatwall, truss systems or tow a horse trailer with a Jeep ;)

Comms- FRS/GMRS, HAM, CB, an inverter, extra power, external vehicle antennas

Working on the comms and adding a second battery.

I really want to get into HAM radio, license, etc. Id love to have this. Any help would be appreciated! I see videos on youtube of guys with their motorola radios!

For CB or similar, what's a good option? I have a couple Motorolas for vehicle to vehicle but what's good for getting in touch with others?

When I was into a lot of rock crawling and off-roading, me and the jeep club I was with used the Cobra 29 LX CB with great success, but it is on the larger side. If you want something smaller the Cobra 25 LX is decent as well.

a mobile(not handheld) ham radio, they can transmit fairly long distance and across country by using repeaters. I heard someone in alberta talking to someone else in arizona a few days ago.

cb might be good if you want to talk to a trucker or something.
