I've got my beretta96dD all apart, I'm trying to switch the mag release from the left side of the gun over to the right. The trouble is I cant figure out whats holding the mechanism into the frame. Is this something that has to go to the gunsmith, or can me and my mastercraft tool set accomplish this?

Wow, that was pretty intense, considering when I finally did get it apart the mag release fell apart, 2 clips and 1 spring, anyways I learned something today, patience is a virtue. Also saved my self some bread, and no ATT required, all in all a pretty good day!

first of all, YOU DONT NEED ANY TOOLS!! dont risk scratching ur finish with tools, i did it with my bare hands

its really simple, the mag release is held in by a springloaded little swtich thing. you sorta have to "rock" it in.

u have to put the mag release in first, then look at it from the mag housing, lean the button side of the release down and pivot the butt end up. put the button end in the catch first, put some force on it to compress the spring. then with the spring compressed slam down the butt side.

hope this helps.

Thanks. I'd love to see it as a sticky.
