I need some help. I have this Jungle Carbine with no flash hider {if thats the correct name} . Did all Carbines have it on and this one cut off ? And yes I know the swivel stud was added. Thanks in advance.
Here's some pics.

ouch, yes the flash hider has been cut off. however, you can get pretty good quality repro's from numrich arms or brownells i think. i've picked up a couple at the gun shows for about 50$ or so, complete with the 2 roller pins

That doesn't look right to me. I think that might be a copy. That swivel stud has been added, and the lower neck doesn't look quite right... Look up the serial number and see if it jives as a no.5 mk1. Also, it shouldn't have a nosecap. Does it have the "lightening" cuts and hollow bolt knob?

Cuts in the receiver to make the rifle lighter. Google images. I've got two, and I've never seen a nosecap on one... maybe it was added when the swivels were added? Serial # should have 4 numbers: check:) and usually one letter, sometimes two... Also the buttstock has a "bow" where the rear swivel is screwed in. It should go straight, right back to the pad. Doesn't matter anyway. With the hider cutoff and bits added, it's a shooter, not a collector. Slap a flash hider on it and shoot it! You may want to slip a good recoil pad on if you're a smaller girl or guy, they kick a wee bit.;) Wood looks nice and clean!

That's a No5. Yes they came with and without the metal nose cap. You need an original flash hider. Maybe somebody on the Board has one or an old barrel with one on it that they could sell you. Very clean gun. Looks like the swivel stud was added for a Harris bipod.
