Well lets see now. Varmints to moose. Pretty darn good round for 1000 meters. Works way better in real life then on paper. The 270 is a very good round,true. But it sure ain't a 6.5x55 by any means.
The 6.5x55 is more versatile of a cartridge.
I've been a few places where the only thing available locally was .22,30-30,308,30-06 and 303 at best if not less. So even if you had a 270 you be sol too
