****help**** where can i buy a ruger sr22?

Where are you located? I noticed in the last few months, dealers from the west gets more from Ruger. Hard to find here in Ontario. Basspro had a few, Sail got none in the last few months, Le Baron's a trickle, EPPs has a better supply but flies out immediately. Your best bet is ask one of our supporting dealers, pre-order and wait for Santa to deliver your order on or before Xmas eve. :) Safe shooting and watch out for the red-nosed one.

I've been looking for one for about 6 months, can't find one anywhere in Canada.
Other than used (want new) or outrageous price (willing to only pay retail for a new one).

At this point you're going to have a hard time finding any new Rugers as they did some kind of competition at the beginning of the year to produce 10000 firearms or something and then they stopped producing. As I DO NOT! Know all of the details, this is just what I heard and anyone can correct me if I am wrong. But If I am not mistaken you are going to be pretty hard pressed to find a new ruger of any kind and that will be why...

I'm sure Ruger has stopped production, why would they want to make money that's just silly.

The SR-22 Rifle is still on the Ruger website, so AFAIK it is still in production.
And it is still in stock in any USA stores I checked (eg. Gander Mountain, Golden State Tactical, etc.).

What I heard from a CDN dealer is that Ruger can't keep up with demand, so they cancelled all CDN B.O.s and are producing just for the USA to fill those outstanding orders, and that we might start getting them again sometime in 2013-2014 when they catch up.

To me this sounds like they need to start hiring some of the unemployed in the USA if they are that busy.

Al Flaherty's in Toronto had 5 as of this morning.

Unfortunately for everyone that is looking, I bought the last one. :)

I just picked up the last one they had at LeBarons in Ottawa. Called them and they had one.

Maybe try te other stores - might be worth a call at least. Also picked up to BC 25 rd mags plus a "supply" of .22lr and a cheap-ish Tasco pdts132 red dot scope. Dat thing is tight!

No offense but those posting "I just bought the last one from ... " doesn't help the OP or anyone else on here.
If you see a store with some in stock that OTHER people can buy, then your post would be worthwhile.

Hmm, I thought the "you might try the other LeBaron's" comment might just have been a little helpful OP. I wouldn't have thought to call them. oh BTW, thier catalogue doesn't show them "sold out" like many other items they carry.

I have noticed a lot of Canadian retailers still have them in their online catalogue with no in-stock/out-of-stock information.
Unfortunately every one that I have emailed or called doesn't have stock regardless of what their website shows.
I have my name on the backorder/notify list at a couple of retailers, which is probably the only way I will eventually get one. :/

What also does not help is the original poster has not stated where he is. I would make some calls for him if he is not to far away from me. If he's across the country Im sure it would not be worth his time or mine!

Very annoying folks don't indicate their location esp. those that wants to buy locally. At least state your province (can understand those in ON not wanting to do that but if the rest does the MIA will default to ON :) )

Earlier this year my son called Ruger to ask why his MkII was being delayed and was told all of their production was going domestic until October.
At the Ruger booth in Las Vegas the question was asked, "Are you going to start shipping to Canada soon" and the answer was "NO".
Don't hold your breath waiting as it might have a similar message as trying to mate elephants . . . or maybe mating mice to elephants.

The supplier is in BC less shipping cost.
