ok i was taking the front grip off it (the stock one) and that rubber seal fell out of the handguard and i was wondering do i put the rubber in the hand guard first or on the barrel first? becauase i cant get the damn thing back on

I just got my VTR and had the same problem. I unscrewed the shroud from the peice that has the front screw, this made it pretty easy to put the front peice on, put the rubber ring in place, then screw the shroud on.
 
i ran into the same problem and i put the rubber spacer on and push it down as far as i could and then rested the stock on the ground and pushed down hard on the hand guard as i screwed it on, every time i've done it its been easier. i am not sure this is the right way but it worked and my rifle shoots/runs perfectly.
 
yeah i tried puting the stock on the floor and pushing down on it but it didnt work i should just try it without it ive been pretty lazy lately still sitting in pieces in my safe haha and its a tack driver with it so i am curious of how it will shoot thanks for the help guys
