Hey guys,

I'm planning on working up a load using a 140 gr. Matrix bullet in my 7x57 and just wondering where I should start? From reading around my goal of 2700 FPS should be easily reached and that the manuals are generally kept toned down for older actions.

I want to use IMR 4350 as I have it on hand.

I checked some various manuals and this is what I've compiled.

MANUAL MIN.CHARGE/VELOCITY MAX CHARGE/VELOCITY
140 gr. Nosler Partition 45.0 gr./2540 FPS 49.0 gr./2820 FPS
140 gr. Sierra SBT/SPT 41.5 gr./2400 FPS 47.5 gr./2800 FPS

Speer 145 - 45.0 gr/2469 FPS 49.0 gr./2727 FPS
Alliant 145 Speer - 47.0 gr/2650 FPS
Lee Manual 145 gr. jacketed - 41.4 gr/2363 FPS 47.0 gr./2650 FPS

Rifle in question is a mid-50's BSA, so a modern action.

Any thoughts or ideas?

Thanks,

Cory
