Hey CGN.

I'm having a hell of a time trying to locate a hip holster for my S&W .357 Model 28, 4inch barrel.

I've checked all the retailers at the top of the screen and haven't been able to find anything. As well as searched this section of the forum. For some reason I'm not allowed to use a shoulder holster for safety reasons at my club.

I've seen nothing but American retailers that want to bend me over for shipping costs that surpass the cost of the holster + brokerage cause they'll only ship UPS.

Can anyone here point me in the right direction? Looking for a right hand hip/belt holster preferably in vinyl. I'd like to avoid the knock off cheap ebay stuff.

Thanks.

"...For some reason I'm not allowed to use a shoulder holster..." Think about where the muzzle points.
Any 4" 'N' frame holster will do. Not in vinyl though. Ballistic nylon. Uncle Mike's makes one.
How are you getting a prohibited revolver to the range? Just curious.

Yeah I understand about the sweeping motion when drawing the firearm. Safety is important.

I know what you mean about the 105mm barrel length but this .357 is registered as a restricted weapon.

It's not likely that a 4 inch M28 is actually over 105mm. Mine certainly isn't.

Edit: Mine measures 100.9mm from the muzzle to the forcing cone. Your's must be longer than you think it is.

I've got a Blade-Tech SRB for my 625. It works pretty well. Getting it direct from Blade-Tech works, but is pricey. I've got an IWB for the five incher from Black Hills leather. It looked good but collapsed after drawing. A shooting buddy reworked it and re-enforced the opening. It works like a charm now. Starting to prefer leather rigs.

My ATT includes prohib (12-6).

An Uncle Mike's size 5 should do the trick. Wholesale Sports usually has them in stock.

Too lazy to look it up. But cylinder gaps shouldn't be much more than 0.004" so it doesn't make much of a difference anyhow.

Take a look at:

www.larocheleathers.com

Or

http://www.pennercustomleather.com/

Quality is excellent for both, as is service. Not as cheap as the off the rack stuff, but you will only pay once while you will get to enjoy top quality and performance for as long as you own the gun.
