Yup, I've been trying to start the screws on the left side. Will turn it all around and try again. Thanks all.
Just for future reference...just about all guns made in the states... the pins, screws and sights are meant to be installed from the right side.
I was just working on a Post 64 94 that had never been apart. Screws for both bands are on the left.

there is some risk looking down the bore!
