Help with a loose pin

Assuming it isn't a trigger pin (just push it back)... sounds like one of the staked pins (left side of receiver?)

Gunsmith. Cheap fix.
Need special staking tool.

Thanks G37. We have no problem pushing it back in place, he was concerened about it working it's way out down the road and having the hassle of trying to repeatedly fix it.
Was thinking there might be a way to swell the pin by a thou or something so it is still removable after but stays in place.

Interesting.

If ineed it is one of the trigger group pins I'd inspect the springs which are used to retain them. It could be that one is not "going down" all the way to keep it from sliding out.

The two pins that hold the trigger group in( 1 larger than the other)are held in by 2 little D shaped springs. GOTO www.again.net/~steve/ipb-remington-870.html look at part # 40 and #42 . There is a retaining slot in the pin , it should be on the left side. If the pin was removed and put in wrong it could work its way out, remove it and replace with the retaining slot or groove on the left side.
