Its a 1942 manufacture, Originally a No.4 Mk1 that was FTR (Factory Thorough Rebuild/repair) and upgraded to No.4 Mk2 specifications (better trigger) at the Fazakerly Factory and re designated No.4 Mk1/2. As for who made it, some could tell by a serial, but I am not one of them.

hmmm... any idea what it would be worth? Its still new in the box and apparently has never been fired.

Its a Parker Hale sporter? if its a really nice one, maybe around $250, give or take a few bucks. I am not good at evaluating value, but some of the milsurp Gods would defiantly be able to answer you. Pics would be nice, even though its been sporterized, some still like to see them, me included.

No problem, I like to share what little knowledge I have:p. But if you are going to sell it, you should wait for some of the other milsurp gods to chime in. I could be way off on the price.

Parker Hale made some very nice rifles. definitely not "bubbas". Nobody seems to want them though so they don't bring as much as a full wood rifle. 250.00 to 400.00 depending on condition.

I'd agree on that pricing. The word "Bubba" carries such weight hereabouts that even factory custom rifles like yours have limited value. Most hunters consider Lee Enfields to be cheap rifles. Hard to get much more for it unfortunately. But still, an unfired Parker Hale is a nice thing to have, like you have a little time capsule there.

Looks similar to my Parker Hale No.1 MkIII*. Mine has a pretty worn bore but still shoots great. Was MY first rifle, my dad has a .22 he considers mine when i was a kid, but my PH No.1 was my very first when I got my PAL, got it for $1 from a friend of my dad's. Was also my first Enfield, Now I am up to three, maybe five if things work out.
