Winchester model 1100 in prestine condition. 26" barrel .. full or modified choke (cant remember)

Any idea's on a price?

No such thing as a "shotty" either. ;)

Slushee, the item that you are referring to is a shotgun. Not a "Shotty".
As far as what you are asking about,if it's an 1100 then it's a Remington.If you're sure that it's a Winchester,then you've probably got a 1200 or 1300 or something like that.

I thought a shotty was a drink - a 12" shotty something akin to a yard of ale. Lordy!! the young 'uns are talking about guns! How cute.:p

According to the trade, there are:

1) Guns
2) Rifles
3) Pistols
4) Revolvers

Collectively, these would all be considered small arms.

If it is indeed a Winchester model 1100, it is probably worth a few thousand dollars, of course, condition is everything, ever for an ultra rare gun such as this.

whan wan.... don't disrespect the man for using the word shotty.
He got either the name or model wrong, didn't mention the gauge, doesn't know the choke and wants us to give him a value estimate. Having a little fun with his use of the word "shotty" is probably the least we could do. :p

*ahem* .. i guess i should have expected that.

Lets try that again,

winchester 1200 pump action SHOTGUN
12 guage - 2 3/4" only
I really do forget the choke (its a safe queen thus I never look at it.. I am away from my house for an extended period thus we will just have to 'pretend' we know what the choke is)
No rust, and wood is pristine, and quite ornate compared to all the pics i found on the internet. I am just looking for a general 'ball park' figure for a VG+ condition SHOTGUN.

I am actually quite surprised I didn't get an approx price for either a rem 1100 or a win 1200 but I suppose it was more fun to type those responses found above wasn't it  Thats the beauty of the internet right there .. so absolutly adorable.

Anyhow, any idea's how much this model goes for on average?

Okay,we've had our fun.I highly doubt that you've got a full choke in a 26" barrel.Likely a more open choke like a modified or possibly even an improved cylinder.A 1200 is a nice gun but nothing special and won't be worth what a comparable 870 would go for.If you've got a gun that's honestly a VG+ gun,and it has a ventilated rib you might get anywhere from $250 -$325 for it.Probably $275-$300 might be more accurate. The trend in shotguns is for shotguns with choke tubes and 3"+ chambers. For an upland bird gun though,I still prefer a 2 3/4" chambered gun with fixed chokes.
That's what I think your gun is worth.Someone else may disagree.

From one of the contributing dealers above - " Ellwood Epps ' in the used guns section:

It could have been a Remington with that model number. If it was a Winchester and a mistake was made in the model number it could have been a 1200, 1300, 1400 or even a 101 or 1001.

A Winchester 1200 in VG condition with a fixed choke is worth around $200-250.

I frequently attend the Switzer Auction in Bancroft.* 2 3/4" fixed choke pumpguns usually sell for rather modest prices.* Most buyers seem to be looking for 3" guns with choketubes.* A nice 1200 like this one might make $175, could well go for less.* Of course this is only one market, and there could be differences in other parts of the country. Some of the posts might have been a bit hard on slushee.* By the same token, I am unimpressed by references to Winnies, Remmies, Leupies, etc.

I think your being generous CB. My Dad and I had 2 back in the 80's never had a Pump gun give so many problems. Dad got so frustrated with his he heaved it in the bush (and left it there). I sold mine a little later on.
