Help with an anxiety attack!!

Despite the lack of funds, I have the urge to make a new purchase.
Unfortunately, depending on the day, if not the hour, I can't make up my freakin' mind.
So here's what's causing my stress...
1) An older aquaintance of mine will be showing me what I believe to be (going by his description), an EAA/Tanfoglio Witness, with slides, barrels and mags for both 9mm and 40 s&w. (and I have no idea what it would be worth).
2) After reading the M&P thread, and fondling one at Shooter's Choice, this gun is definitely on my short list.
3) Another gun on my short list is the XD45... maybe I should save up for this?
4) Go in a completely different direction and order the Marlin 1894 in .44 mag that I've been contemplating for a while.
I'm already shooting a CZ and Glock in 9mm, which I plan to start re-loading for.
Do I want to stick with this calibre, or have to re-load for another? Do I need another 9mm? Maybe I should pick up yet another .22 (I've aready got a Ruger MKIII with bull barrel, Buckmark Camper and Buckmark URX lite splash. I've sold the two wheel guns I have, and doubt I'm ready to go back in that direction.)
Any input/insight you might have would be appreciated. :redface:

I own a Tanfoglio Witness 1911 Custom in .45ACP and I absolutly love it. Well built, great quality and accurate.

I like variety myself. I would suggest different calibers. I also have a .40S&W which is loads of fun to shoot. A Ruger .22 is a must for any collection.

My next purchase will be a .357Mag. Why did you rid yourself of wheel guns? They are also fun to shoot. They say variety is the spice of life. :D

Reloading is a must for any serious shooter, unless of course money is no object.

Whatever you decide, follow your urge. Forget about lack of funds (that's why they invented Visa and MasterCard). Satisfy your thirst for a new firearm. LOL
 
By the sounds of it you don't have a 1911.

Get a 1911. Im pretty sure there's a law somewhere out there that states all gun owners must have at least one in their collection.

I know this is sacrilege, but I simply don't like 1911's :eek:
At the moment I'm leaning towards the M&P, although I did hold a nice S&W model 99 in .45 that felt pretty good.... aaaaargh... it's starting again!! :bangHead:
 
I'd say stay with 9mm (I have 3 myself :))

I reload for 9mm, and have no desire to get into .40; I just find it very convenient to load one calibre and then decide which gun I want to shoot.

BTW I have M&P and like it a LOT! I'd say sell your Glock and get one :p ...no really.


but you should that what ever you're going to get will only be a temporary cure ;)

I always planned on getting a 1911, but then during my RPAL course I handled a 1911... I found that I have a hard time maneuvering my thumb far enough to hit the slide catch. I must have small hands. Are all 1911s going to be like that?

This is not uncommon. Unless you have a very long thumb this is completely normal.

There are extended slide locks available which make it much easier. I just got used to the normal size ones and I handle it just fine. It does make it a BIT tricky to lock the slide back without an empty mag, but when you get used to it its a breeze.

Perhaps I'm confused (not the first time, certainly not the last). The firearm in question is a CZ clone, which has interchangable slides. :confused:

Sorry Griffoneur, I think I'm beyond help, but perhaps said priest and holy water could cast a few other demons out for me! ;)

As far as I know, the Tanfoglio Witness is a 1911. Always was.

Witness is made for the U.S.A market by Tanfoglio and is marketed under EAA.

They are pretty decent pistols.

My 10mm has about 1000+ rounds of HOT loads through it and no serious problems.

P.S

IMHO

They are a CZ-75 clone but I think Tanfoglio actually makes better pistols than CZ. I found my Witness EAA had superior trigger out of the box than my CZ-SP01 and seemed to be better built.


Oh, by the way.....Forget the whimpy 9mm and get urself a man's gun.....the MIGHTY 10 MM:p

For me its all about the $$$, the price of ammo has, and IS going up.:( The gun, like a cell phone, is the least of my expense, its the airtime or ammo thats going to really cost me. So, my thinking is; whats the most affordable ammo? Having determined that, I now purchase my guns accordingly.:popCorn:
 
Right now, "carrying" is not an option. :(
I have yet to have a paper target attack me, so 9mm is good, but... the XD45... mmmmmm.
An if I ever decide to venture into IPSC, the .40 has an edge over the 9mm (from what I've been told).
Then again, if I did carry, better to carry something you shoot often. After all, a .22 in the hands of an experienced shooter is better than a .40 (or whatever) if it never sees range time.
Here it comes again.... owwwww... my head hurts... make the voices stop! :bangHead:
