Help with an old service record

I'm reaching out to the milsurp experts, who seem to be knowledgeable in all aspects of military history for some help with interpreting my Great Grandfather's service record. He originally served with 55th Bn but was transferred to the 15th Bn as a reinforcement on arrival to England. His brother was transferred to the 21st Bn as a reinforcement and was killed at Vimy. Here's what I've found on the 15th's memorial page.


Maybe someone who is more familiar with these can interpret the shorthand and expand on what is written. Thank you.

This is the forum for the Canadian Expeditionary Force Study Group. I spend a lot of time in there as I'm doing similar research on a brace of great-uncles (one of whom ended up in the 15th Battalion as well). The folks there are extremely knowledgeable about many of the small details that might escape the rest of us.

As for the record card you've posted here, I do find the dates a bit confusing: wounded in June 1916 but then rejoined unit in January 1916?? Struck off strength in September 1915? At first blush, I'm thinking that there's a mistake with the earlier dates ie. wounded in June 1915, sent to England for the remainder of 1915 and then back to the front in the New Year. Not unheard of to find date errors on these. But the folks on the CEFG forum will know and will fill your head with more information than you can possibly handle without putting on another pot of coffee.
