I have the AP 4x4 and a few California Comp 12 gauge shell carriers. During practice and at a recent IPSC shotgun match I found the AP 4x4 "sticky" unlike the California Comp where my shells pulled out smoothly. I like the ergonomics of the 4x4 so if anyone has had this issue and corrected it please help.

The springs that hold them down at the top are quite strong. I took a zip tie around the back of the holder to keep the spring "back " a bit and this eased the pressure allowing the shells to come out easier. Just a quick fix.

cheers

I found yesterday that after enough use they loosen up perfect. No mods required now. These things took off like hotcakes. Nobody in Canada has anymore in stock. I want two more. Brownells seems to have them.

Mine loosened up as well with a little use but I had a little trouble using slugs in them. They seem a bit to long and bind a bit. I might try some other brand of slugs to see if I can find one that's a hair shorter.

Ever try to use Sellier & Bellot 12ga 2 5/8 reduced recoil slugs in your AP 4x4? How did they work out?

They are very smooth. That's all I buy now for shotgun matches that require buckshot and slugs. Excellent price $18 for 25 slugs or buckshot. Williams always gets these in. I bought a ton last time they got some. They sell out fast.
