Help with broken part

Use high temp silver solder. Propane torch will handle that on a small part. Price of the silver braze might shock you.
Given what the hand does, I wouldn't depend on a repair. It would be a tiny butt joint.
A replacement part is the way to go.
And it isn't pot metal.

I would try to replace if possible.

If you choose to braze, you will have to find a way to not have the vice rob heat. Maybe wooden vice jaws?

Anyone know if a Webley Mk IV hand can be made to work? I know the two revolvers were basically copies of one another

replace with original. BUT, given the tech of today, if it truly was unique and otherwise irreplaceable you could do a 3D scan and print a plastic replacement. From there its not extremely difficult to make a mould, then pour a bronze (or pot metal) replacement. A bit of cleanup and you're off.

I have found a few places with webley mk 4 hands but hard to find an enfield one. The webley ones are almost indentical

A revolver hand is tempered steel. Bronze or pot metal would be a waste of time.

Try calling long established gunshops; they tend to have accumulations of parts. Epps near Orillia; Gunco in Nepean; Western Gun Parts in Edmonton.

Will do that tomorrow!

Wonder if this one had rusted or pitted. Seemed to snap quite easily for being tempered steel.

No dice. Last option is gunco but he is closed till next week. I sourced a webley one from wolverine, anyone know if these can be made to work? They seem fairly similar

If I can't get this fixed whats a fair price for the revolver as a parts gun to someone? It is fine mechanically otherwise and was working flawlessly till this stupid part broke. I really like it and would prefer to hang onto it but it is rather useless to me in its current condition. A new hand and it would be a great revolver.

Took it upon myself to try and make one after having trouble finding a suitable replacement. Bought some small files, a vice, and a carbide cutter for my dremel. After a few hours of work I have this. Just have to do some final shaping, braze the pin in place, cut the slot for the main spring lever and then harden the steel.

Can a propane torch be used to braze the pin in place?

You might want to heat your newly made part to red, then quench it in oil.

I have the parts downstrairs from a revolver, but I will have to look and see if it is a Webley or an Enfield. I did see the part you are after in the small box yesterday.

As to value as a parts gun, another option is to have it deactivated. If you can find someone to do the deactivation and de-registration for a reasonable cost, they are worth as much or more in that condition as they are live. I would suggest you would see $350 as a dewat.

I just had a look at the parts bin, and all the parts have Enfield inspectors stamps on them. The piece you are asking about is stamped 2A, if that is of any relevance.

Edited to add: Deal struck with Matt for the hand and the mainspring. If anyone else is interested in any of the remaining parts in the bin, they are available.
