Help

Hello I'm having feeding issues with my cz 858, the round is stove topping as it's been feed. Its never the first round, most of the time it seems to the second or third round. I'm not riding my bolt and I have the same issue with all four original mags that came with the rifle. It also does it when the rifle is clean or dirty. I do have about 3000 rounds through it with no issues until now. I have read some stuff on line about polishing feeding ramp or filling down some other parts, not sure about this, any advice would be appreciated.

Hmmm maybe pictures would be helpful to compare your feeding path to mine. I've also heard of the barrel sliding forward on these rifles before (can't remember if that was a cz or csa) but that could potentially be an issue, it doesn't take much to throw a round off it's normal feeding path.

I had the same issue with my 858 turned out I got a bad batch of old surplus ammo. (i think it was romanian) The same ammo had feeding/extracting issues in another 858 and an SKS. Next batch of ammo had no issues (also romanian)

I had this same issue with all 4 mags when I switched to Chinese copper washed ammo. I had previously put 400 rounds of czech ammo through it without a single malfunction, as soon as i switched to the chinese stuff i was getting a feeding failure every 5 or so rounds with all mags. Polished my feed ramp and immediately was able to put 160 rounds through it without an issue.

Can't seed to upload pics now will try later thanks.

Any thence you can explain how you polished the feed ramp, and some pics would be great, thanks.

I used a bit of high grit (800 I think) wet sand paper and then followed that up with some metal polish. Sorry I not able to grab any pics right now.

I had my 858 apart today and I noticed that my breach block was chipped on one side ( the front or firing pin side) I did not notice this before, I'm assuming this could be causing my miss feed issues. Has this happened to any one else and what would cause that. I wish I would have bought the parts kit from Marstar, when I had the chance, does any one know any place else that has parts kits for the 858.

I believe wolverine supplies carries some parts and corwin arms possibly do too

The only ammo that I have put through it, has been steel case surplus, the last batch Im using is polish surplus.

Oh man! When I first used Polish surplus in my CZ 858, the first shot was a case head separation. Switched to using my SKS and with in the next 80 rounds, another case head separation with my SKS. Was easy getting the stuck cases out but was pretty inconvenient and end my shooting day quicker than I wanted. Never happened again to my rifles after that day. I still got like 240 rounds of that stuff left and I gave a 100rds to a friend for a birthday present and he had a case head separation with his SKS XD. My incident is what leads me to believe that a dirty chamber is not the cause of a case head separation like everyone seems to believe is the cause. However, I do believe that was just a bad batch of ammo.

Up date,

I ordered a breach block from wolverine supplies some time ago ,great service as usual. Finally headed to the range today and tested my cz, worked flawlessly again after replacing the breach block. I only fired about 200 rounds as it was cold and was shooting my new SP-01 shadow line as we'll. Thanks gent for info and help.
