Hey, everyone. Just a quick question - I picked up a Desert Eagle in .44 Mag from TSE in Calgary - when I kick home the magazine, the slide kicks forward right away, as soon as the new, loaded mag is in place, without my releasing the lock. Not to sound like a doofus or anything, but any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Many pistols do that when you put a magazine strong enough. Does it close when you put the magazine without being brutal ?

Doesn't happen on the 50, in fact you almost need to use both thumbs to get the slide to release.

If you just purchased it, give the guys at TSE a call, I am sure they would be helpful.

Yeah, it's brand new, and it surprised the hell out of me the first time I slid home the magazine and the slide popped forward. I can live with it, but it doesn't seem like something that should be happening.

There are several handguns that will do this when you slap a magazine home. If it doesn't do it when you're gentle, I wouldn't worry about it.

I realize it's difficult to be nice to it when you're re-enacting your favorite 'Deagle' scene... ;)

I don't think I've been really hard on it or anything, just doing what I do with my other semis. I'll play around with it a bit and see if I can figure out what's going on. I just got a little concerned, since I'm sure it's a time and effort saver and everything, but it's not supposed to happen. I'd take it a step further and be really worried if I punched the mag home and the slide went forward by itself and she touched off a round right away.
