I am looking for a good zone to apply in for the game draw for mule deer. I don't know anyone down south and would prefer to stay close to Saskatoon. If anyone can suggest a zone and can help arrange permission to hunt for two people it would be greatly appreciated. What about crown or community land?

I know people who got three tags while in C pool. Not sure if that is still possible?

Alternately what is the regular season like and where to go.

Thank you for any help. It is greatly appreciated.

I am one mule deer hunter who is not going to tell everyone who has access to the internet exactly where my favourite spots are. Do your own scouting. It's very simple.
There are tons of good areas just south of Saskatoon, near Outlook, all along the S Sask River. Buy an RM map or two. Go for a drive. Bring binoculars. Introduce yourself to the farmers with the best looking habitat. The Saskatchewan game guide shows the community pastures in the zone map section. All community pastures are open for hunting, as soon as the cattle are gone. Get to know the pasture mangers. Call or visit your local conservation officer. Talk to provincial big game biologists.
There is no "regular" season for mule deer, unless you are an archery hunter or are hunting in a herd reduction zone.
Good luck!

Most years it is possible to get 1 or 2 tags for antlerless deer. It seems Iusually get drawn for either ### every second year. There are many different regs this year in the western part of the province due to CWD control. Tags in these areas are antlerless available at dep't offices, after turning in two heads one can "earn a buck."
There are zones which still go by the old rules.

I believe the last date for applications for the draw is May 31.

There are some good spots West of S'toon, at least a couple of years ago, just outside of the WMZ. When I hunted the area though the land was being taken over by new housing projects so I would imagine that all of that hunting land is gone. I was back in S'toon a few months ago and noticed all of the places that I went for Mulies is now subdivisions so you will be driving further and further. You will ultimately have to stop and ask land owners what they have seen and if they will help you out.
