Need help identifying an 1943 izhevik pu sniper rifle, unsure of what the markings must be as well as where they should be?

If any info can be given it would be appreciated

Thanks Z

Izhevsk rifles have no specific markings to identify a sniper rifle like Tula does. Post pictures of the mount, scope and of the front and rear escutcheons and we can identify if it's a legitimate sniper rifle.

As far as Moisin snipers go ....

Check the Russia - Milsurp Knowledge Library (click here)http://www.milsurps.com/content.php?r=126-russia

There's some good articles and extensive photo montages on both an authentic 1944 Mosin-Nagant M91-30 Sniper Rifle (click here)http://www.milsurps.com/showthread.php?p=1177 and also a 1954 Mosin-Nagant M52 Hungarian Sniper Rifle (click here)http://www.milsurps.com/showthread.php?p=1178

There's also some fun video showing ~Angel~, Scott and Badger, shooting various sniper rifles from their personal collections at 400 meters. Scott is using his 1942 Russian 91/30 Mosin-Nagant 7.62x54r.
