So my dads air gun needs a rear sight and we’re trying to figure out exactly what rifle he has to get the proper sight if possibly. It would have been bought in either the LATE 60s or EARLY 70s

I don't recognize it, how does it look like the rear sight attaches? Are there any threaded holes or is there a groove in that base?
Is the receiver grooved on top?

Your bet bet is to likely modify that base to work with what ever basic cheap rear sight you can source.....

This one is meant to slip onto a 3/8" dovetail,

Kind of looks like a Relum Telly or maybe a Lucznik. Are there no markings on the barrel?

Only markings on the gun are those few numbers I posted in the pic 57397, and it has just a diver for the sights nothing else. No screws holes for adjusting and the top is all rounded as well not flat or grooved at all

I agree with Gunsaholic, pretty sure its a Relum Telly. I fixed up one that was my wife's childhood pellet gun. Got parts from John Knibbs International in the UK. They show a rear sight online for 18.5 pounds.

I just looked through some of my airguns and it is a Relum. I have one just like it with the same type of rear sight. Mine has no markings on the barrel either but mine says Made In Hungary above the serial number by the barrel pivot.

Sure looks like it! Pretty basic looking rear sight, looks like the OP's just snapped off?
I was thinking it looked more like a base of some sort but looking at it again it looks like it's fit into the barrel with a dovetail.
Pretty cool that parts are still out there!

As Jasper posted, try here, instock and ready to ship.... :)
You have to love gunutz eh... so many helpful and knowledgeable people!

They probably should have drilled and tapped the elevation screw hole a bit further back..... you might have to source the elevation adjuster serperately if they don't have any. Should be easy enough to sort out.

Ya that’s what I was thinking and telling my dad after I found it and showed it to him. Said we’ll have to find a small adjuster screw for it. But I’m sure just any adjuster screw should work that is the right thread

For sure, find a suitable bolt, and then maybe make a custom wood cap and epoxy it to the head of the bolt.... :)

You might get lucky and find a bolt that fits that already has a thumb wheel head.

It kind of looks like a Slavia but not with the raised cheek piece.

Ya between exchange and shipping it’s about 50/55$ cdn, a local gunsmith said he could replace it for 50$ but would be a different one then it came with from when it was new. Dad said he wants to order the one from Europe for it lol

Might be worth adding some spare seals and springs?

See if they can tell you what the hole size and thread pitch is, then you can start looking for a thumb wheel bolt.... :)

Actually on second thought, Gunsaholic can probably give you the specs on the missing height adjuster!

No need to do any rebuilding on it as it still cocks good no leaks, shoots with lots of power and still a VERY hefty spring tension on when breaking the barrel.

Right on, does it have leather gaskets?
My thoughts were more along future needs and avialability, probably won't add much to the package shipping costs to add small parts if they are cheap and availlable.

I honestly don’t know lol haven’t really looked to see haha

Yes they have leather seals. Dry as can be likely ,drive out the cross pin and remove the end cap. The piston can be soaked for a week nose down in a 1/4" of silicone neet'sfoot oil then reassembled. Just shy of 600fps good enough to head shoot grouse.
