Help with Lee Enfield marking

I bought another Lee Enfield and there is a stamp on it I have never seen and can’t find anything about it.
Made in 1918 by Enfield mk iii*. The two stamps are the same. One on chamber and receiver ring. What it looks like is a piece of barbed wire with the knot in the middle. These are on the left side of chamber and action. All other marks are what I would expect form an Enfield made in England at Enfield.

I know what the broad arrow is, not the arrow.
It looks like a piece of barb wire fence half inch long.
