So I've got a new USGI synth stock, handrail and red dot incoming. I'd like to see how well the m14 can function as a cqb rifle. Eventually (if I like the build) I'll even cut and carve the barrel to 18 3/4".

So now that I've got the parts, I'd like to try different ammo. I am looking for a lighter load to use out to 100-200meters that will take a little recoil out of th e7.62mm to help speed up target aquisition between shots.

I know the 7.62mm isn't the best choice for a cqb rifle, but I've heard rumours of lighter loads to help.

Any suggestions?

EDIT - So I've been reading a bit about managed recoil loads using 110 grain jacketed and 125 grain jacketed and spitzer points. Does anyone have any good accurate load suggestions using these as a starting point?
