Looking for anyone who has messed around with hand loads for a sako stainless steel laminate 300 win mag.....
Getting ready to gear up for hunting season and with gunpowder in short supply any help to shorten the chase would be greatly appreciated...
Ive tried using 180 grain accubond with Cci 250 primers, imr 7828.... And grain from 75-77 but am looking to see if anyone has other recipe that they found successful...

Any help or suggestions would be great....

I understand all guns are individual but a light in the right direction might work for the "sister" gun.....

Thanks hunter90

Sorry I don't have any specific loads for a 300 winmag sako model 85 grey wolf - stainless steel - laminate. I have a 300 win mag tikka 695 stainless steel synthetic. Rumour has it that the stock and action don't change the performance and internal ballistics too much from a reloading point of view anyway.

So if you're just looking for a good load for a 300 winmag, look at IMR4350 and 180 gr bullets. I've tried a bunch of powders in 300 winmag rifles and found nothing better.

"...all guns are individual but..." Unfortunately, there are no buts. You have to work up the load for your rifle. No two rifles, even your sister with a consecutive serial number will shoot the same ammo the same way.
That being said, and that there are no magnum rifles in my world, I've always found the powder given for the accuracy load for a given bullet weight. in my Lyman book, to be a good starting place. Usually the only place as well.

Thanks for all of the replays.... Have worked a few loads and so far have found the iMR 4350 to have the best groups in a latter test.....

I appreciate all the help and looks like i will finalize a load with 4350.....

Till next time
