Help with Luger trigger

I've been having some problems with the trigger on my P08. Lately the gun doesn't want to fire at all when the trigger is fully depressed, however, I've seem to be able dry-fire it when I apply pressure from the right side of the gun towards the left (see pic). I have given it a thorough cleaning and applied a liberal coating of oil and still its a no-go. Any thoughts as to why this could be happening?

Click when it should have gone BANG !

..... I haven't owned or handled a Luger PO8 in years and years ! But on two that I did have, there were problems with the "firing pin" being really gummed up with crud that probably dated from when the gun was first made! I'd doubt that having it re-barreled would cause any problems... my GUESS, firing pin/breach block needs disassembly and a through cleaning .... Good luck ! .... David K. .....
 
The Luger trigger has to go around so many corners that it's easy for a bit of gunk in one tiny spot to bring everything to a halt very quickly; you also don't want to over-lubricate, since that oil will itself attract all sorts of dust, powder residue, grime, etc. If the trigger and trigger bar move freely, the problem will likely be that there's some hardened oil or grease in the bottom of the bolt.
 
I didn't replace any parts, and the gun was functioning fine with the new barrel until I put about 100rnds through it and decided to give it a cleaning. Now it only goes "click" when I apply pressure to the gun. I was thinking I should replace the trigger bar, what would you guys recommend?
 
I have never owned a Luger however I suggest that a careful disassembly and reassembly might help to fix or isolate the problem.

That has worked for me and not just with gun's!!
 
If you #### the empty pistol, then strip the top end off, you should be able to fire the top end all by itself just by pressing on the exposed end of the trigger-bar; that'll let you know where the problem is.

The trigger-lever inside the side-plate may be slipping.
It can be gently bent in either direction when some careful
heat is applied to. Take it out first!
If not, gently lift out the trigger bar and inspect the front piece
for wobble and the notch in the middle.
But having worked before, it can only be a very small problem.
 
Is your trigger plate loose?
Does it have any play?
Probably the contact point between sear bar – trigger lever is not right. After 100 rounds something went out of place.

Globetrotter had it right, at first I stuck just a price tag underneath the top part of the trigger and the gun seemed to be able to function again. Bending the trigger bar would have the same effect so thats what I did (definately more reliable than leaving a thin sticker on the trigger). Applying some small amounts of heat to the trigger bar and slowly bending it in. It took a few tries as I did not want to over-do it, but now everything seems to be working 100%. Thanks again for all your help guys :)
